Brittany Maxwell
Brittany Maxwell is excited to be joining Wasatch Academy
for her third year as the dance, pilates, yoga, art history
instructor, as well as, the cheer coach. She was born and
raised in Greenville, Texas, where she began dancing at
the age of five. She received a degree in Art History from
Principia College. It was there that she found her passion
for teaching and began teaching dance classes to the community.
After graduating, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue
a career as a professional dancer. Brittany performed with
various jazz and modern dance companies including Gus Giordano
Jazz Dance Chicago II and Valerie Alpert Dance Company.
She continued teaching throughout her time in Chicago in
Aurora and Vernon Hills, Illinois, as well as, at the Giordano
Dance Center in Evanston. Before moving to Mt. Pleasant,
she lived in Denver, Colorado for six months where she fell
in love with mountain biking while dancing for Louder Than
Words.
The past three summers Brittany danced with the modern/jazz
dance company Interweave Dance Theater in Boulder, Colorado.
She feels there are many reasons to dance: for artistic
expression, exercise, or simply finding coordination. There
is something in it for everyone!
